DOMAINE INEBRIATI

Vacquières, France

The name Inebriati comes from the Latin [inebriare], meaning “the drunkards”. Winemaker Victor Beau started Domaine Inebriati by borrowing two hectares from his father Christophe Beau of Domaine Beauthorey. The vineyard has been farmed organically and biodynamically since 1994, and Victor has kept the ethos of caring for the land when starting to farm his own grapes. Victor now has six hectares located in the Pic Saint Loup appelation, in the northern side of the Languedoc. The vines are planted among the garrigue or wild herbs, surrounded by limestone cliffs. The soil is a mix of brown earth and small angular stones of Jurassic limestone from the slow erosion of the surrounding cliffs. Some of the vines date back 80 years. The grapes are hand harvested, and the wines are racked before and after winter, to obtain natural clarification.
