GUILLAUME CHANUDET

Beaujolais, France

Guillaume Chanudet is a 5th generation farmer making beautiful wines in some of the most coveted areas of Fleurie. He works with the highest and steepest vines in Fleurie and in Moulin-a-Vent, one of the most noteworthy Beaujolais crus.

The soil in Fleurie is mostly pink granite but the rest depends on the vineyard location. Higher vineyards are planted in coarse sand that absorbs and reflects the heat of the day lower vineyards have more clay that retains water. The vines are organically grown, no chemical fertilizers are used, and grapes are hand-harvested.
